Time for another hike! Not really. It began as a search for wild horses. I had read in an article that there are wild horses roaming around near Mount Charleston. The pictures looked pretty cool so I set out to find these cuties. My husband said they were at Lower Bristlecone. Which is one of many trails in Mount Charleston. It is about an hour from the strip, but you are going to love the views. On a good day you will be able to have the roads all to yourself. Photo shoot!!! Now here is a fun fact. I get deathly cold. If it is 77 with a breeze I need a jacket. Since it is generally the fiery depths of hell in Vegas I was not expecting there to be snow still. Hence my tank top and knee leggings...Well in Mount Charleston it can be 20 degrees colder than Vegas. Totally forgot that part. My husband is always freezing me out in the car. So now I have to have a car blanket. Thank God! I do not think I would have survived without it. There was freakin snow on the ground still! So welcome to my winter pictures in the middle of summer :-) Now this hike was forecasted to take 2-3 hours. That obviously did not happen if you take a look at all the pics from both our albums. Smh…It really cannot be helped as it is all so picturesque. The hike is relatively easy. It is a bit up hill in parts, but you will make it just fine. My favorite part was having the trail all to our self. We saw a total of about 5 people throughout the hike. Gives you a lot of time to be one with nature. I just love the peace and quiet you can get in the mountains. Remember how I said it’s a way longer hike while taking pictures? Well...Good Lord we were out there forever. We spent a good 6 hours out there. AND we did not finish! The sun was starting to go down. You know what that means? It gets colder. So we decided to head back. So sadly we saw no horses...But, who can really be sad with views like these!? I loved every bit of it.
Oh! You may have noticed a purple tint to the pictures. I decided to play around with some color to add a little something extra. Let me know what yall think :-)
