On the road again….So who loves roadtrips? WHY!? It takes soooo long. Endless sitting!!! Although, yes I do that on the couch...BUT it’s different. We decided to drive all the way over to the Redwoods because Big Sur was closed. It is an eight hour drive from there. We figured if we got tried we would just stop somewhere for the night. I was so invested in my NPR podcasts that the long car ride did not register. Of course there is just so much to look at on the way. These little sculpures were on top of a hill across the street from a framer’s markert. I love how art can be anywhere. I thought it was pretty cool to go over the San Francisco bridge. As cool as it was I think it was better taking pictures of it from afar. It is more epic that way in my opinion. But, now it is now in my history book. There is just something about this tree. I love it so much! It reminds me of God and the burning bush. What do yall think? I guess I never really thought about Cali having rolling hills of green. This was very reminiscent of Ireland. It is gorgeous out here. Yes I know everyone and their mom wants to live out here. But, I was thinking it was more for the water and weather. Growing up in Texas if you wanted to do road trip you are gonna get some flat dry land. This is the beauty of traveling. You will always find gems that you were not expecting. As we continue to drive the longest drive of my life we arrive at a road block. At this point it’s around 10pm. We really want to get to the hotel already. The cop came to our window looking all omniscience. He informed us that the road was closed due to another landslide! What!?! We had already booked a hotel for the night in Eureka. The cop said we would have to take a two and half around go around to get there. HELL NAH! This was getting crazy!
Now change of plans. To be honest I am not sure how we ended up at our next location, but it was the best part of the trip. It was so moody outside. If definitely added a special charm to everything. I left the pictures unedited so you can see how it really looked. Enjoy! It was amazing have this beach to ourselves. It was so windy and cool. It totally ruined my hair by the way. If you ever decided to go it’s called Kehoe Beach in Point Reyes National Seashore. We decided to get back in the car and drive back to Monterery. We loved the Arbor Inn so much we decided to stay again. But, first...sunset… Hope you enjoyed our crazy road trip. We have to come back to actually see the parks one of theses days. Hopefully all will go as planned next time...
